Game Description:

Three Card Brag is a game in which each player is dealt three cards, facedown. Each player then antes, followed by a single round of betting. At that point, each player has the option of betting or folding. Rounds of betting continue until there are only two players left. At that point, those two hands are revealed and the player with the better hand takes the entire pot. In this early form of poker, the highest hand is a Three of a Kind, followed by a Straight Flush, a Straight, a Flush, a Pair and a High Card.

Game Start:

While traditional Three Card Brag typically involves anywhere from four to seven players, Royal Crown Three Card Brag is a variation of the game in which you, as a player, compete directly against the dealer. There are two game options available at the same time. A player can play only the main game, or try their hand at the Pair Bonus as well. In the regular game, the player antes and is dealt three cards. At that point, without any additional betting and without seeing the dealer’s cards, they can either play the hand or fold. If a player chooses the Pair Bonus in addition to the main game or to play the option by itself, the player must play out the hand once they commit. Once again, there is only one round of betting. Cards are dealt at that point after which the better hand wins.

Winnings:

In order to qualify for play in each individual hand, the dealer must have at least one Queen or better. If the dealer does qualify, both hands are compared and the best hand wins the game. If you win a hand, your winnings are paid to you. And if you lose, your stake is removed. If the dealer does not qualify for a bet, you win the ante but the play bet is nullified. If the dealer qualifies and you have the better hand, then you win both the ante and the play bet. However, the opposite is true if the dealer has a better hand: you forfeit both the ante and play bet. If you play the Pair Bonus and have the better hand, you will win the Pair Bonus bet. Additionally, if your hand is a Three of a Kind, a Straight Flush or a Straight, you will qualify for an ante bonus. The ante bonus only involves your hand, and is available as long as you play after the deal.
