“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” is the original TV show that took America by storm, spawning several similar hit TV shows, along with video and board games. It is also the inspiration for Crime Scene™, a video slot game from NetEnt with a RTP of 96.71%. The setting is a dark alley behind an inner-city store or restaurant, crime tape stretching from Dumpster to Dumpster. Game symbols include fingerprints, a gun and bloody footprints, as well as tools of the forensic analysis trade, such as chalk letters and numbers, special goggles and a blue light for finding blood and other fluids. As you arrive on the scene, you’ll hear a police radio spouting “police speak,” setting the background for your search. As a forensic investigator, it’s your job to collect the evidence and find the “perp,” or perpetrator as laymen say it.
This game has five reels, three rows and 15 betting lines, with adjustable betting levels and coin values. Game rules are easy to understand, with one wild symbol that is a “sticky wild.” That means that the symbol stays, or “sticks,” on the reels. It replaces all other symbols, except for the bonus game symbol, to make winning combinations with other matching symbols. The wild symbol can stick to the reel for up to five rounds in the same position. The best part is that the appearance of one or more sticky wilds in a winning combo triples the prize. Wins are multiplied by the number of coins bet per betting line.
You can win on any and all of the 15 lines during a single spin, with sticky wilds tripling the payout. However, only one win is allowed per line, with the highest win paid. Wins on other lines will be added to the total of that same spin. If you have three or more bonus game symbols on a line (consecutively from far left to right), it will launch the bonus game. In the bonus stage, your goal is to gather coins by clicking on files that each hold different amounts. The values depend on the bet placed on the spin that launched the bonus game. You can also open files that hold fingerprints of a certain value, which are added to the value of every file you open afterward. If you open a file with a red “x” inside, the bonus game ends. But you still have one more chance to win. Choose one of four envelopes, which will either add to your winnings or give you another shot at the bonus game at the point it ended.
No need to worry about losing your winnings or your place if you need to exit the game. You can log out even when the sticky wild is on the reel and it will appear in the same place the next time you play, until the full number of spins have been made. If you are confused about payouts, you can click on any symbol at any time to check pay tables for that symbol. Fans of TV crime series now have another entertainment option in the genre they love with Crime Scene™, newly updated to include a triple prize multiplier and a high-tech bonus game.
